While browsing through issue N°97 of French fashion magazine L’Officiel (the 1000 MODELES HAUTE COUTURE edition), I came across 3 double page spreads showing the Autumn – Winter 09-10 Haute Couture collection by Francophone, Lebanese designer Elie Saab. The collection is composed mostly of dresses (cocktail ad evening gowns) in various shades of white. The collection combines vintage looks of the 30s and 60s mixed with futuristic, asymmetrical styles. Since starting My Riviera Wedding I see ideas for weddings everywhere and these beautiful dresses were no exception.
If you want to invest in a timeless, high-fashion piece for your wedding day that you will be able to continue wearing in the future, then try to find a multi-brand store near you that sells Elie Saab or head off to one of two of the only Haute Couture boutiques in the world in Paris or the Lebanon. If you are on the French Riviera anywhere near Nice, then you could always try Espace Harroch (tel +33 (0)4 93 82 50 23) located between the Place Messena and the Avenue Jean Médecin. Espace Harroch stocks the Elie Saab Prêt à Porter range, they might be able either to order you in a few dresses to try on or to point you in the right direction of another boutique.
