L’Ecrin beach is for me by far the best beach in Cannes for weddings. Tucked away off the Croisette on the east side of Port Canto, L’Ecrin offers a private setting for beach wedding receptions.
Open in the day time as a private beach with 180 sun loungers, L’Ecrin also functions as a restaurant and lounge bar. With a décor designed by the same artist as the Man Ray in Paris and New York and the Buddha Bar in Paris, L’Ecrin oozes a relaxed trendy vibe.
For weddings, L’Ecrin has 3 different spaces that can be used: the main restaurant which is totally under cover, a terrace which is really a continuation of the restaurant which can be either open air or covered with an extendable shelter and the lounge bar, a wooden decking chill out area opening out onto the sand. The restaurant and terrace combined have a maximum seated capacity of 200 for stated dinners. For cocktail parties, the venue with its 3 event spaces can fit larger groups of up to 400 standing.
I have eaten at L’Ecrin several times and the food is pretty good. The menu is mainly French cuisine (mediterranean not gastronomic) with asian specialities often on the specials board. For weddings, L’Ecrin can put together a tailor-made buffet, seated dinner or canapé menu depending on your requirements.
L’Ecrin can set up a dance floor area and provide sound and light equipment. The venue can also recommend DJs with whom they work frequently. One thing to keep in mind is that sound regulations on beaches in Cannes are quite strict. The venue should take care of applying for a late licence which will allow you to have music until 02.00. If you want to add a touch of magic to your reception then you could also ask the venue about the possibility of organising a firework display.

Thanks so much
Lois
Hi Lois, many thanks for your email. I have sent you standard pricing info and menus for L’Ecrin but you should know that they will have to charge you an exclusive use fee on top of the per head price for food and drink as 30-50 people is well under venue’s maximum capacity. L’Ecrin is quite a large venue so I do feel that if you are 30, you might feel very ‘lost’ there, plus I don’t think that they usually privatize for groups of less than 50-60 in low or mid season (or more in high season). Kind regards, Kerry
