The Abbaye Hotel and its restaurant, le 541, is a traditional yet trendy wedding venue located in the village of La Colle Sur Loup at a little over 15 minutes drive from Nice airport and 30 minutes from Cannes. Although La Colle Sur Loup does not have the same charm or impressive views as nearby Saint Paul de Vence, the Abbaye itself is packed full of character and provides a wonderful setting for wedding ceremonies and receptions.
The Abbaye’s décor has been designed with the utmost care. The combination of the old-style exposed stonework and fun, contemporary furnishings is absolutely ravishing.
The venue can be booked for weddings year round and accepts groups of between 50 and 130 people. During the high season (15 May to 15 September), the Abbaye stipulates that for weddings held on a Saturday, group sizes be a minimum of 80 adults and 50 adults for all other days of the week. During the low season months, the minimum group size can be negotiated.
The Abbaye has a beautiful chapel which can hold up to a maximum of 70 people standing. Alternatively for larger groups, ceremonies can be held in the venue’s gardens (please note that for ceremonies in the garden, chairs for your guests must be sourced from an outside supplier at an additional cost). The gardens can also be used for a pre dinner drinks reception.
Depending on the weather conditions, either the Abbaye’s courtyard or the interior restaurant space can be used for seated dinners. All discos take place inside the main building of the Abbaye and music is permitted until 02.00.
The Abbaye offers a wedding package priced at 95 Euros per person in low season and 120 Euros per person in high season which includes the exclusive use of the entire venue from 17.00 to 03.00, canapés, starter, main dish, cheese and dessert or wedding cake, 1/2 a bottle of wine and 1/2 a bottle of mineral water per person, coffee and petit fours. Champagne and other drinks to accompany the canapés for the aperitif are charged at an additional cost. The venue can also provide an open bar which is chargeable on a per bottle basis according to consumption.
The venue has a total of 15 rooms and suites that are all tastefully decorated using a modern black, white, cream and taupe colour scheme. A suite for the Bride & Groom on the night of the wedding is included in all wedding packages. If you would like to rent out all of the rooms in the hotel for your wedding, a special 3 day, exclusive use accommodation package is available. The Abbaye also has a lovely swimming pool which is open for use by all guests staying in the hotel.

Hi kerry i love your website, I am interested in getting married in antibes next year late aug or early sept. Ideally in the catholic church near the picasso museum- is this possible? I also love this venue for the reception afterwards. (I would love an outdoor reception) Can you give me an estimation of costs for approx 80- 100 people and for your services with helping to organise a wedding. thank you, Laura
Dear Laura,
I have just sent you an email in response to your comment. Just to elaborate in what I said in my email, I was in contact with R.P Etienne Labignette, the priest at the Catholic church near the Picasso museum in Antibes last November as one of my best friends who has a holiday home in Antibes wanted to get married there. She doesn’t speak French so I contacted him on her behalf. He explained to me that the church does not accept weddings for those who are not part of the parish (i.e. who are not locals or who do not go to the church regularly). He said it was because of a few incidents with foreign clients and foreign wedding planners (not me I would like to add!). I would be delighted to hear from you if you would like to chat more about your special day.
Kind regards,
Kerry
