The Château de Berne is a wine producing estate and boutique hotel situated on a private domain amongst 600 hectares of vineyards. The venue is located in the village of Lorgues, at 1 hour and 15 minutes drive from Nice airport and 1.5 hours from Marseille airport in the magnificently authentic Provence countryside.
The venue has 3 principal function spaces as detailed below:
The Jardin du Jasmin offers a large outdoor terraced area covered by an attractive marquee type structure which opens out onto the Château’s vineyards. This 260 metre squared event space can seat a maximum of 200 people in a natural, relaxed environment and is perfect for brunches, seated dinners and cocktail receptions.
The Salle de Bacchus is a 230 metre squared indoor function room with a seated capacity of 160 people allowing for a dance floor. This attractive space with its arches and white draping is ideally used for seated dinners, discos and live music.
The Scène sur l’eau, an amphitheatre with a 115 metre squared floating circular platform, offers an original outside space for wedding ceremonies and also doubles up as a heli pad for those who wish to arrive in style. The platform is large enough for approximately 70 to 80 chairs and tent structures can be constructed to provide shade for guests in the summer months.
The Château de Berne can provide catering for groups of 80 people and upwards and the venue’s chef offers a fabulously creative cuisine. The venue also offers a selection of the best wines produced on site as well as full open bar packages and a fabulous range of made to order wedding cakes. Food and Beverage provided by the Château de Berne is extremely reasonably priced with set menus ranging from 60 euros per head. If you prefer to use an outside caterer, the venue has no problem with this at all and is happy to propose a selection of local companies.
For your accommodation needs, the Château de Berne sleeps 38 people and has 19 charming bedrooms and suites which can be booked for your wedding at a 20% discount. A special exclusive use rate is also available if you wish to rent the entire hotel (2 nights minimum in low and mid season and 3 nights in high season).
In terms of pricing, the Château de Berne, as with the other venues located in Provence that I feature on My Riviera Wedding, is considerably more reasonable than other similar venues on the Cote d’Azur. The exclusive use fee for weddings on a Saturday ranges from 2100 Euros in low season to 3100 Euros in high season (if an outside caterer is used, rates increase by approximately 50%, great discounts are available for week days).
