My Riviera Wedding

I have just literally got back from a few hours spent at a wedding fair in Cannes held at Palm Beach and felt compelled to write a post about it straight away. If you are thinking about going I would strongly suggest that you not bother to be honest. Thank goodness I only spent 8 Euros because any more and I would have asked for a refund. I was practically insulted by a lady from one popular wedding venue, must be an English-French thing. If you are trying to learn French then you will no doubt have come across the type of person who likes to pretend that they don’t understand you because of your English accent and makes you feel like a total idiot. I studied the language at university, have lived in France for 3 years and have a French boyfriend so I know I can speak pretty well, she was totally just doing it to me mean!

Some of the stands were so incredibly cheesy it made me want to laugh out loud and others were manned by surly hostesses who looked bored and unapproachable. The caterers were not offering taste tests and the wedding dresses being modelled were very dated.

One good thing did come out of it for me however; I got to make a contact at a fantastic new Cup Cake supplier based in Golf Juan: www.cupcakes-blvd.com. I will be adding Cup Cakes Blvd. to the suppliers section of My Riviera Wedding very shortly.

There are two popular wedding fairs coming up on the French Riviera one of which is happening in a few weeks time. The company which organises the fairs in Cannes and Nice is called Lune de Miel (French for Honeymoon) . The next Lune de Miel wedding fair is to be held in Cannes on Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November from 10.00 to 19.00 at Palm Beach Casino. The next one will be held in Nice at the Acropolis congress and exposition centre on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 January from 10.00 to 19.00: http://www.lunedemiel.com/salons-de-nice.

Entry for both fairs is quite reasonable at 8 Euros on the door or 6 Euros if booked via their website. I intend to visit both and will share feedback on www-my-riviera-wedding.com afterwards.
