The ‘Tip Jar’ on a blog allows readers to donate a sum of money to the blogger as a sign of their appreciation of the blog’s content. Like selling advertising space, the virtual ‘Tip Jar’ is a way for bloggers to earn money from something that they often begin as a non-lucrative pastime and which occasionally, for a lucky few, developes into a full-time job. In my case, I began my blog with the aim of setting myself up as a fully fledged wedding planner.
