The Château de la Chèvre d’Or is in my opinion one of the finest venues for intimate, romantic weddings on the French Riviera. This wonderful hotel located in the Medieval hilltop fortress town of Eze, with its 2 Michelin star gourmet restaurant, has brilliant cuisine, breathtaking sea views, bags of charm and character, great service (member of the Relais et Châteaux group and has a 4 star rating), is private and discrete and not extraordinarily overpriced. In short, its positioning in the CondéNast Traveller 2010 Gold List of hotels is most definitely deserved. If you are planning a small wedding for between 15 and 65 people and are looking for a unique venue from which you can enjoy the Cote d’Azur coast line, then the Château de la Chèvre d’Or could well be the perfect wedding venue for you.
The Château de la Chèvre d’Or has magnificent gardens in which, weather depending, wedding ceremonies can take place. Alternatively, one of the venue’s terraces known as the Café du Jardin can also be used (from 6.30pm only). For ceremonies in the gardens, a maximum of 65 can be seated and for ceremonies on the Café du Jardin terrace the maximum seated capacity is 30. The exclusive use fee for wedding ceremonies at the Château de la Chèvre d’Or varies according to the number of guests, ranging from 500 Euros for groups of up to 10 people and 1,700 Euros for up to 100 people (according to 2010 rates).
For drinks receptions and dinners, the venue offers full privatisation of the Eden Restaurant and the Eden Terrace which can hold a maximum of 65 people seated. The exclusive use fee for the Eden restaurant & terrace equates to: 65 minus the actual number of guests, times 300 Euros. Therefore, for groups of 65, no exclusive use fee applies and for groups of 30 for example, the exclusive use fee would be (65-30) x 300= 10,500 Euros (according to 2010 rates). On the menu are a large range of delicious French & European dishes combined with high-end Asian fusion cooking. Menus can be created according to your requirements and open bar and drinks packages are available.
If you would like to have live music or a dance party after dinner, this takes place in the lounge area of the Eden Terrace for 50 people maximum under the conditions that the 6 rooms located directly under the Eden restaurant & terrace are booked by the wedding party (3 nights minimum booking required if the event is on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, 2 nights minimum for weddings on week days).
The Château de la Chèvre d’Or has a total of 30 rooms and 6 suites, all tastefully decorated, ranging from 290 Euros per night for a standard room (according to 2010 high season rates).
